We are at war. We have a scant amount of food left and my little toes have had to be amputated due to frostbite. The opposing forces are closing in and I fear I will not see the morning. Oh and we're fighting apes. It's a weird war. The war is kind of allegorical and so is this letter. Give my best to the children if they can still understand the human language.
